The Rice Lake 2 kg Test Weight is a cast iron weight with a gold chip-resistant painted finish and a grip handle that can be used to standardize or calibrate scales. The GHDL 2kg ASTM Class 7 weight with a 7.2 density meets ASTM E617-18 and Handbook 44 specifications. The nominal value is marked on the weight.
All test weights are made in the USA; and are available in kilograms (gold) or pounds (silver). Serials numbers may be stamped on weights at an additional cost.
A Traceable Certificate that is traceable to NIST and includes the weight serial number stamped on the weight, is available as an optional purchase, and must be ordered at the time of purchase (per-weight price). Also available is a non-traceable Statement of Accuracy, which can include multiple weights listed on a single Statement of Accuracy for a flat fee.
